Prosecutor Wasinton Marpaung stated the soldiers aged 40 to 45 acted without orders to seek extrajudicial revenge for a 2025 protest against military law revisions. Although the military tribunal has not specified a verdict date, Andrie Yunus and other activists have requested that the trial be moved to a civil court.
